What are the benefits of breastfeeding vs formula?
I have been deciding between breastfeeding my baby vs. formulating my baby. I don’t know what the benefits are for breastfeeding my baby are vs. formulating my baby with brand named formula. How long do you breastfeed your baby for and how many hours in between do you do it? How long do you keep them on formula for and how long in between?
I breastfeed and Loved it! Some people have different opinions on the whole concept. I was told that it was best to breastfeed because your child gets the antibodies that you have. They can not get that from formula. I was 19 when I had my son and I only breastfed/pumped for the first 4 months. I was waking up every 2 hours to feed him. You get use to it. My son had a hard time latching on so I guess you can say I kinda got discouraged which is What you’re NOT supposed to do (lol). I put him on formula but had a lot of problems with colic but he only woke up for a feeding every 3 hours when he was a newborn. A lot of sleepless nights. Doctors will tell you to breastfeed for at least a year! I feel as long as a child gets at least SOME breast milk it’s a great thing! I encourage breastfeeding, its a great experience. Good Luck!!
