Modest Maternity Wear
Is it considered chauvinist to hold this opinion?
I personally prefer to see women wear maternity clothes as opposed to regular clothes that don’t hide a showing belly. Do you as a woman consider that chauvinist? I can’t help but notice that most young women are far less modest about showing these days.
It’s not chauvinistic to hold that opinion. Many people share your opinion on that.
It IS chauvinistic to impose your opinion on anyone else, especially your SO. Unless you are the father of a pregnant 15 year old, you have no right to tell a pregnant woman what to wear.
It could also possibly be considered chauvinistic to assert your opinion strongly among people you know will disagree.
If you are sensitive enough to ask this question, I assume you would not really want to make waves in a public setting over this issue. Sometimes an eye roll is enough of statement.
